The Seven Chakra and Their Meaning

The seven chakra symbolises the main vital of our health. Negative feelings hamper the spin of these chakras, which results in diseases and sickness. A chakra is a vital energy center that resides in our body, that is not detectable by most of the modern medical means.

The seven Chakra’s are:

  1. Root chakra

Sanskrit name: Muladhara, meaning root or support

Location: Between the genitals and anus

Color: Red

Main Issues: Survival/Physical needs like security and shelter

 

  1. Sacred Chakra
  • Sanskrit name:Svadhisthana, or “sweetness”
  • Location:Lower abdomen, between the navel and the genitals
  • Associated color:Orange

 

  1. Third chakra
  • Sanskrit name:Manipura or lustrous gem
  • Location:Between navel and base of sternum
  • Associated color:Yellow
  1. Fourth chakra
  • Sanskrit name:Manipura or lustrous gem
  • Location:Between navel and base of sternum
  • Associated color:Yellow

  1. Fifth Chakra
  • Sanskrit name:Vishudha or “purification”
  • Location: Centrally at the base of the neck
  • Associated color:Blue

 

  1. Sixth Chakra
  • Sanskrit name:Ajna or to perceive, to know
  • Location: Above and between the eyebrows
  • Associated color:Indigo

 

  1. Seventh Chakra
  • Sanskrit name:Sahasrara, or “Thousandfold”
  • Location: Top of the head or crown of the head
  • Associated color:Violet, gold, white
